The Sabancı University Drama Club prepares for their first English-language performance in Turkey. The Ancient Greek tragedy Medea will be performed at the Performing Arts Center on Monday, December 12. The director and cast are Drama Club members who hope to reach out to many international exchange students in Istanbul, leaving them with a memory they will not soon forget. Another objective of the Drama Club ensemble, SUOyuncuları, is to set an example for university drama clubs to be involved in multicultural and international events such as these.
SUOyuncuları will perform Medea in English on Monday, December 12, at 8 pm in the Sabancı University Performing Arts Center. Foreign students in Istanbul, international exchange students, and the students of foreign-language high schools will be invited to the performance. Admission to Medea will be free for all viewers.
Drawing on an experience of successful performances in the past, SUOyuncuları prepare for a first in Turkey. The ensemble takes a contemporary and inquisitive approach to an Ancient Greek tragedy that is based on the events of its era for an unconventional performance.
Following the performance at the Performing Arts Center on December 12, SUOyuncuları will perform in Austria as part of the Medea European Tour.
